Donating a Computer to the PAL Program

The PAL program accepts donations of used PCs. The PCs we receive are cleaned up, all hard drives are erased and a new licensed operating system is placed on the PC. Additionally, application software - such as word processing and other learning tools to assist the disabled, are added on the PC. Once a PC has been refrubished, the PC is given a person with developmental disaibilities or their family.

Many people with developmental disabilities in the state of Colorado do not have convenient access to computer technology. For people with developmental disabilities computers can increase learning skills, improve eye-hand coordiation and help with many other life skills. Additionally, computers provide the family with a method of accessing the internet to research options and resources for the disability related challenges that they face. PCs donated to our program go directly to this underserved population.

People that receive a PC from our program are never charged any fees for the PC they receive. All costs associated with refurbishing PCs are paid by DDRC and generous contributions from the community.

Why donate to the PAL program?
There are many reasons to donate your old PC to our program. The main reason is simply; you can help a family affected by developmental disabilities.
